Smelling Oil
Posted in Personal with tags Migration Iran Culture on August 9, 2008 by AmirI just pop out to our garden which is shared with the next door neighbor. He is a nice old retired guy and I feel sometimes sorry for his loneliness, after a year he can’t still pronounce my name correctly and of course I don’t get angry about that as I can’t spell lots of new names (however I don’t understand why they get angry when I pronounce some names). Any way, we were socializing till he asked me: “you don’t want to come back Iran for visit” “not yet” I replied , and he said with big smile:
- you don’t like oil smell
* not since totalitarian governments are not interested in sharing it with their people!
- it’s cold I better go and turn on my electrical heater!!
